This is a picture of epsom salt. In science, we did an experiment to find out how soluble epsom salt is. We needed to figure out how many grams it would take to saturate 50 ml of water. It took 55 grams to saturate 50 ml of water.

This is a picture of epsom salt. We did a saturation experiment to find out how many grams it would take to saturate 50 ml of water. It took 11 spoonfuls of epsom salt that is 55 grams in order to saturate the water.

The First Day of Blogging...WLE 2009

5th graders...Today will be the first day of an adventure. You are going to create a blog today, and it is something that we will be returning to throughout the year. Blogs are a shared online journal where people can post diary entries about their personal experiences, hobbies, and much more. The blog that we create today will be a BLOG for school, you may at a later time create a more personal BLOG at home. We will be talking a lot about BLOGGING in the next couple of weeks. I hope you have as much fun with these BLOGS as my previous students!!!

Colonies Presentations

5th graders selected one of the original 13 colonies to present information and mapping of their subject. In a cooperative group, they compiled facts through lots of research from many different sources. They presented their findings to all of their classmates.

John was given several barrels of discarded water from a local factory. He observed the water to be clear and odorless. He needed to get rid of the water so he dumped it in a local river.
